The Monday and Saturday groups - These groups are now moving into the winter months and this is an ideal time to build their base level of fitness. This training cycle will give each runner the chance to build on the distance and/or time they can cover as a continuous run and they will each set what they would like to achieve at the beginning of the cycle. This can then be used as the baseline test for the end of the cycle to see how they have improved.
Wednesday groups - The training cycle for the 7.00am group will using interval training to work on their pacing in both aerobic and threshold zones. There is also a challenge to see if they can cover a greater distance than they did last year on the last Wednesday of this cycle. Last year they managed 9.4km within the hour (including a warm up and cool down). Can they go further this year? The 6.15pm group's training cycle will give each runner the chance to build on the distance they can cover using intervals. There will also be a bonus challenge to see if the group can run to see the Christmas lights and a photo in front of Tesco's teddy on the last Wednesday of the training cycle .
